Google’s Christmas Logo - Not very Christmasy…

I can’t help it, but Google’s 2006 Christmas Logo is just plain weird… While not very religious, to me it would make more sense if politically correct Google, rather than posting logo of two kangaroos, stopped showing re-designed logos during religious holidays completely. Or if they really need to reflect the Christmas day somehow, then please at least do it properly!

Christmas logo should somehow show the worldwide celebration of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth…

“Google come on”, couple of marsupials holding their baby has really nothing to do with it. Well, unless I am mistaken and Jesus, the central figure of Christianity is somewhat connected to the continent of Australia and kangaroos :) hehe, which I really doubt…

Anyhow, if I was their designer I would design the logo using some neutral theme, like promotion of goodwill, friendship, giving or compassion…

Of course I understand, that Google needs to provide a minimum of offense, particularly to other religious identity groups, but still, looking at this year’s Christmas logo, I find it seriously funny.
I really can’t help it :)
