Recommendation

Video training resources provided by any of the above vendors could be a huge plus for individuals or teams in the transition to a new technology stack and you can’t really go wrong with choosing any of the above solutions for your online training needs.

Lynda seems to be the latest craze (purchased by LinkedIn in April 2015 for estimated $1.5 billion), not only it’s currently the largest Online IT training site, but the fact that it’s being heavily invested into and very much advertised is giving me a lot of confidence that Lynda is here to stay.

However, Pluralsight is also an extremely fast-growing company. In the past 2 years they acquired Trainsignal, PeepCode, Tekpub, Digital Tutors, Smarterer and Code School to offer the depth of content that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. They offer training for IT, Developer and Creative teams and continue to expand their library of content while making it accessible globally. Pluralsight continues to grow their extensive breadth and depth of courses and with the recent acquisitions, they now have 4,000+ courses, 12,000+ hours of content and continue to add 50-80 additional new courses every month.

Bottom line: Based on my experience with IT Training providers and if your plan is to train developers, I’d recommend to choose between either Linda or Plularsight based on the specific technology requirements and their availability with these two vendors.
