If you’re trying to build a .NET project and unable to compile due to missing reference (namespace) of Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word, this may be of help.
One way is to do the install for VS 2012, by installing OfficeToolsForVS2012RTW.exe directly.
But note, that I’ve managed to get the Microsoft.Office.Interop extensions listed in the suggested references after installing the Office Tools Bundle installer available here for Visual Studio Community edition:

Just install entire community package.
Once done, you’ll have options to create Office apps:
